Lead Inspector/ Risk Assessor
Serving New Jersey

Homes built in between 1960 and 1978 can have lead-based paint. Homes built before 1960 definitely have lead-based paint or a lead-based hazard.
Lead can damage younger children more than it can adults. Children under 6 can suffer permanent damage from lead-based paint poisoning. It is easy for children to eat household lead because it can exist all around them. Lead-based paint can exist in:
- Water
- Paint
- Dust
- Soil
Legal issues could arise if older rental properties are left unchecked, especially if children live there. Sellers and land lords must supply a “Disclosure of Information on Lead-Based Paint and/or Lead-Based Paint Hazards.” The purchaser or renter has a minimum of 10 days to conduct a risk assessment or inspection for the presence of lead-based paint and/or lead-based hazard.
